Private Therapy

Talking therapy aims to help you feel better about yourself, your life and circumstances, people and situations. Counselling or psychotherapy may involve exploring and trying to identify all the deep-rooted beliefs and thoughts you hold about yourself and your life that have been blocking change and growth. We understand that this process can sometimes feel overwhelming or painful because these are the thoughts and feelings you usually try to block out or avoid. However, you are not alone in this journey. We are here to support you every step of the way, offering a reassuring presence and a helping hand. Despite all the challenges mentioned above, it is worth the effort because you are worth it. Investing in yourself could be the most valuable investment you make in your life.

Counselling

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a collaborative journey, usually a short-term process, that focuses on specific issues and helps you address a particular problem loop that you are experiencing in the present moment. It’s a shared effort to deal with stressors in your life, be it challenges at home or work, traumatic circumstances like a breakup, divorce, or bereavement, or issues surrounding low self-esteem and addictions. During the first meeting with your therapist, you both agree on the number of sessions, which can range between 12 to 24 weeks or more, ensuring that you are actively involved in your healing process.

Psychotherapy Treatment

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a comprehensive, long-term process that focuses on you as an individual, your thoughts, motivations, and behavioral patterns. It encourages you to revisit your childhood experiences, which have significantly influenced your life and personality, and might still be causing you issues. The goal of psychotherapy is to uncover the very roots of your problems and challenges, bringing these unconscious feelings to light through exposure, interpretation, and contextualization. This process helps us understand how our inner conflicts affect us in our daily lives, providing a sense of validation and understanding.
Psychotherapy is a profound exploration of the self, a journey that delves into questions of identity and beliefs. It prompts you to ask yourself, Who am I? How did I become this person? Who do I aspire to be? These introspective questions, often pondered during or after a session, invite you to reflect on your life’s path and your future aspirations.

Frequently asked questions

During talking therapy, your qualified therapist will listen to you and help you find your own answers to problems without any judgement. Talking therapy is a collaborative process and will require you to be open about your experiences, thoughts and feelings.

Therapy usually lasts around 50 minutes. The free consultation is approximately 15 minutes via phone.

During the beginning stages of therapy, it would be beneficial to attend therapy weekly, as this will form the therapeutic relationship. Once a rapport has been built, you can discuss it with your therapist.

In line with the BACP (2018) Ethical Framework, all sessions will be confidential unless you mention anything linked to harm to self or harm to others.

Once the first session has been agreed upon, you will receive an email asking you to book your first session on Fresha (booking system). You will be asked to enter your email and the time and date of your choice. Finally, a payment section will be required to book your session successfully.
